You will find a narrow pathway when finishing the last step of the stone stairway upward, after passing through the site of Nioumon-ato at the fork point of Daishoin Temple course. The rock on the right-hand side is known as the “Whale rock” because it resembles the head of a whale. |

Situated directly below the kanman-iwa (Ebb-and-flow rock), one of the seven wonders, this particular rock is known as “Ship roc” for its huge bulk resembling a ship. A statue of Jizo is placed under the rock. |
