In Mt. Misen, known as the subject of faith since olden time with its natural environments kept intact, the area of evergreen broad-leaved forests (laurilignosa) was designated to a World Heritage as "Misen Primeval Forest" in 1996. Its botanical diversification is often referred to as “Japan in miniature” making it possible to observe a wide spectrum of trees depending on the altitude. The broad-leaved forests where leaves glow luxuriantly even in winter producing fruits! And the wildlife such as deer seeking habitats in the forest for the staff to live on! - Daily lives remaining unchanged over ten thousand years create a miraculous landscapes. |

●Tsuga Sieboldii (Hemlock)
Tsuga-Pieris japonica community is well developed featuring a very precious asset of Misen, thus ennobling the value of Misen Primeval Forest. Along the main road of Misen, Tsuga Sieboldii is growing from the trail gate to the summit. |
